Lt. Gen. Dato’ Muhamad Effendi Mustaffa (Retired)



Lt. Gen. Dato’ Muhamad Effendi Mustaffa (Retired) holds a Master’s degree of Science in Defence Studies from the University of Madras, India and a Masters Degree of Policy and Security from the National University of Malaysia (UKM).

He was also actively involved in lecturing and training in the Armed Forces Staff College of Malaysia before being chosen to be a part of the Directing staff of the Australian Armed Forces Staff College in Queenscliff. In the field of regional defence and security, he has participated in several international conferences in ASEAN and seminars including the Pacific Area Special Operation hosted by the United States. With his knowledge and experience, he was then called to serve as the Military Advisor to the then Defence Minister, Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Hj. Abd Razak.

Retired from the army on the 8th January 2008, he was immediately given the responsibility by the government to be the Head of Inspectorate for the Department of National Service Training.
